Autodesk® Nastran In-CAD
(Formerly NEi Nastran In-CAD)
Autodesk® Nastran® In-CAD™, a general purpose finite element analysis (FEA) embedded in your CAD system, is powered by the Autodesk® Nastran® solver and offers a wide-range of simulation spanning across multiple analysis types such as linear and nonlinear stress, dynamics, and heat transfer. This single product is available as a network license and serves multiple CAD platforms such as Autodesk® Inventor® and SolidWorks® – providing a consistent user experience and eliminating the need for multiple single-platform simulation technologies. Autodesk® Nastran® In-CAD is a part Autodesk®’s Digital Prototyping solutions – it delivers high-end simulation technology in a value-enhanced, CAD-embedded workflow so engineers and analysts can make great products.
Autodesk® Nastran® In-CAD is the first design, validation, and optimization solution that “fuses” technologies such as:
Autodesk® Nastran® In-CAD provides SolidWorks users with an embedded finite element modelling tool. It features the familiar SolidWorks look and feel for all menus and functions, providing seamless integration between design and analysis. Autodesk® Nastran® In-CAD features true geometry associativity, which means your loads, boundary conditions and even meshes are updated interactively whenever changes are made in SolidWorks.
With Nastran being one of the most widely used solutions, SolidWorks users can now communicate their FEA data to most standard pre- and post-processors through support of the Nastran file format. This provides versatility to a product which is already easy to use and backed by the renowned Nastran solution.
